LAB.INTEGRAR

The artistic laboratory, with students from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Lisbon, integrated in the program Classroom at the Museum, aims to develop a body of work based on the exhibition and the project concepts, in dialogue with the Ceramics classes of professor Marta Castelo.

The laboratory is developed in 4 sessions of approximately 2 hours, led by the artist Salomé Nascimento, and proposes an awareness of our connection with nature and the need for its protection, exploring various artistic creation techniques, such as drawing, breathing, movement, observation under a microscope, cyanotype photography and painting with natural elements.

The artistic objects/records created by the students (Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Painting and Sculpture) are being integrated into the exhibition space. The Laboratory had its final presentation on January 12, 2025 and will feature a conversation about the work process open to the public.

‘Associating cultures with feelings and homeostasis strengthens their links to nature and deepens the humanization of the cultural process. Such a connection counteracts the current growing separation from ideas, practices and cultural objects from the process of life.’
